Unlike cartridge or sand filters, DE filters build up layers of powder and organic residue that can’t be removed with a simple backwash. Over time, this buildup reduces flow, strains your pump, and compromises water clarity. A full teardown ensures every grid is cleaned, inspected, and restored to peak performance.
